42442: San Francisco Earthquake

The California earthquake of April 18, 1906 ranks as one of the most significant earthquakes of all time. It was not the greatest nor were the casualties higher, but with the photographs and later scientific studies, much was learned about these events. More lives were lost in the fires which broke out after the quake due to broken water pipes and gas mains.
