45126: First Battle of Ypres

Ypres is a mediaeval town in Belgium. It was taken by Germany at the beginning of World War One and recaptured by the Brirish Expeditionary Force later in the year. What became known as the 1st Battle of Ypres was when Germany attempted to regain the town. Heavy losses were incurred on both sides, and it was only when the French army arrived that Germany abandoned the offensive.
