85493: Travel permit book of Effie Macleod

Travel permit book number 166499, belonging ot Effie Macleod.

A permit to travel to Lewis from Glasgow was issued to Effie on 8th July 1917, for the purpose of visiting parents within the North of Scotland Special Military Area. It is possible that Effie made this application to travel in order to visit her mother (Effie’s father had died by this time), regarding her forthcoming marriage to Alexander Campbell.

A new permit was issued to Mrs Campbell on 15th August 1918 to travel to Gravir to set up home.
