31971: ECC 29.2 Cromore – WALL (Undated), BREAKWATER (Undated)

Summary:

WALL (Undated)
BREAKWATER (Undated)
Coastal stone wall with breakwaters

Location:

NB 39714 20742

Full description:

"Situated on the northern shore of the sea loch located between Meal na Moine and Cromore school, the remains of this wall can be traced intermittently running above the highwater mark for over 100 metres. Several spurs also leave the wall, running south into the loch for approximately 2 metres forming breakwaters for landing and tying up small boats. This feature seems to be a continuation of the coastal wall recorded on the same shore to the west (29.1)." (Burgess 2004, 108)
