Exposed walling was identified during the course of an archaeological survey of the Bhaltos region carried out by Dr. Ian Armit in 1989 and 1992. The walling has no identified associated deposits.

A 0.5m high fragment of walling, comprising seven superimposed courses, was recorded projecting from the sand dune section at Gridig. This had a preserved length of c. 0.6m. Small scale excavation showed no associated deposits and no indications of its age or function.
