Full description:

no. 48
This is a rectilinear structure 25m south of the blackhouse site 52 (SMR no.1584) above Loch na Berie. The structure is c. 6m north-south by 4m externally. It has a drystone wall, 0.8m wide and up to 1m high, with a turf/earth core. It has markedly rounded internal corners. The internal wall on the east side is irregular and hints at a central ‘waist’ or partition. The structure has been truncated to the north by a drainage ditch.
