Horse's Well

Horse's Well

A fine solid well is located at the shore below Baile na Cille manse and graveyard, at the base of a sloping field behind the walled garden. According to tradition the well was latterly used for watering the minister's horse; water for human consumption came from another well nearer the manse.

An older tradition maintains that the well was drunk dry by the mourners on the day of the funeral of Domhnall Cam, who is buried in the nearby graveyard.
