Erskine is a town in Renfrewshire. It lies on the southern bank of the River Clyde. Originally a small village settlement, the town has expanded since the 1970s as a new town. Many people relocated from the Glasgow area which was demolished to make way for the M8 motorway in 1971. Within Erskine is Erskine Hospital, founded in 1916 for ex-service personnel.
