13946: Grimsby, Lincolnshire

Founded by Danes in the ninth century, Grimsby is a fishing port on the south side of the Humber Estuary in the historical county of Lincolnshire. Its wealth was derived from the rich fishing grounds of the North Sea. Although the North Sea fishing industry has declined, Grimsby is still the largest fish market in the United Kingdom, dealing with containerised catches on an international basis.
