204: Parish of Stornoway, Lewis

The parish of Stornoway in the historical county of Ross & Cromarty included not only Stornoway town and surrounding villages, but also the peninsula of Point and settlements along the east coast of Lewis extending north to Tolsta.

Historical records for the area are collected by three present-day historical societies: Stornoway Historical Society, Comann Eachdraidh An Rubha (Point Historical Society), and Comann Eachdraidh Tholastaidh bho Thuath (Tolsta Historical Society). Currently there is no active society covering the settlements of Tong, Coll, Back and Gress.
