South Galson, Lewis

South Galson was created in 1924 when the Board of Agriculture agreed to divide the land of Galson Farm into three crofting townships, the other two being Melbost Borve and North Galson. South Galson has 23 crofts which are numbered from 16 to 38, following on from croft numbers in Melbost Borve. Several feus have also been created.

The settlement known as South Galson in the first half of the 19th century is dealt with separately on this website under the name of Old South Galson.
