Pol an Oir, Berneray

Pol an Oir, Berneray

Pol an Òir lies within Borve on the island of Berneray. It includes the harbour previously used by Borve crofters when transporting animals to and from the island. The name probably means Pool of the Shore, but the alternative translation Pool of Gold is suggested in The place names of Berneray.
