COVID-19 Coronavirus update, March 2020 onwards: during the current pandemic period, Hebridean Connections staff and our contributing colleagues at Western Isles heritage organisations do not have access to the usual range of research resources with which to respond to enquiries and comments.
We would therefore be grateful if you could delay your submission of queries and comments until after the end of the pandemic; we hope to post updates on this page as our situation changes.
We look forward to hearing from our researchers in the future and in the meantime send best wishes for good health from the Outer Hebrides.
If you have queries about individual records or images, or additional information that you would like to contribute in relation to these records or images, please use the Disqus commenting facility associated with each record. See our guide to commenting for information about how to do this.
Enquiries and comments relating to technical and functional aspects of the website, or to online donations, can be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org , or on +44 (0)1851 822 805. Our postal address is: Hebridean Connections, Lews Castle Museum and Archive, Castle Grounds, Stornoway, Western Isles HS2 0XS, UK.
Individual database records are created and maintained by Western Isles heritage organisations, to which research enquiries (including family history queries) can be submitted directly. The responsible organisation can be identified by the code in the Record Maintained By field in individual records; codes can be cross-referenced against the list of member organisations on our home page. Please note that records coded as HC are maintained by the Hebridean Connections project itself.
Please note that Hebridean Connections staff are not able to provide a bespoke research service.
