19981: Edinburgh Ladies Gaelic Society
Known locally as “Sgoil na Ladies” These schools were circulating schools to stay in each place for not less than 6 months and not more than 18 months. The teachers to be God-fearing men. They were allowed to read the Scriptures, but forbidden to preach, this was because the Society was non-denominational.
The Gaelic schools were much more popular than the SSPCK
