The history of the Royal Engineers spans over 900 years. A group of military engineers was brought to England by William the Conqueror. The Sappers as they are known, have been involved in every theatre of war - hence its motto 'Ubique' meaning everywhere. They were also involved in designing buildings such as The Albert Hall in London
