50539: Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland

The Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland was formed in 1893 as a small number of ministers and congregations left the Free Church in reaction to the latter’s movement towards union with the United Presbyterian Church. The Free Presbyterian Church is reformed, conservative and orthodox in its ways, taking the King James Bible and the Westminster Confession of Faith as its standards.

There are congregations throughout the Highlands and Islands, in North America, Australia and New Zealand, and large missions in Kenya and Zimbabwe. Further detail is available on the church website.

A small group seceded and formed the reformed and evangelistic Associated Presbyterian Church in 1989.
