Donald MacLeod

Donald, born in 1912, was the son of Norman MacLeod and Marion MacLeod of 5 Borve. He attended Berneray School between 1919 and 1926, leaving for Kingussie Higher Grade School.

Ordained as a minister, he married Margaret Gillies of Lochboisdale, settling in Portree. They had five children together. 

Reverend Donald was a generous contributor to the School of Scottish Studies sound archive. His recordings, including his own compositions, are available on the Tobar an Dualchais website. A convenient way to access them is through his biography page
