104536: Rebecca MacAskill

Rebecca, born in 1918, was a daughter of Allan MacAskill and Mary MacLeod of 7 Borve. Rebecca was a pupil at Berneray School between 1924 and 1932, with a few weeks at Lochportain School in 1931.

She married Tom Owens, and they settled in Inverness. Rebecca worked as a seamstress.

Rebecca contributed a recording to the sound archive of the School of Scottish Studies, University of Edinburgh, in which she recounted the tale of her father incorporating driftwood into his new house. The recording is available here on the Tobar an Dualchais website.
