Duncan Bàn MacAskill

Duncan Bàn was born in 1925, the youngest child of Allan MacAskill and Mary MacLeod of 7 Borve. He was a pupil at Berneray School between 1931 and 1939. He worked as a crofter and weaver, and was passed 7 Borve following his father’s death in 1951.

Duncan married Ann MacLean from 4 Lochportain, with whom he had five children.

Duncan was a contributor to the School of Scottish Studies sound archive. Two of his recordings are available on the Tobar an Dualchais website. A convenient way to access them is through Duncan's biography page
