105377: Kate Effie MacCuish
Kate Effie was born in 1842, the daughter of farmer Angus MacCuish and Catherine Paterson of old Borve, In 1854 their croft became part of Borve farm, and the family became cottars at Backhill.
Kate Effie became a domestic servant and, in 1881, married fisherman Neil MacAskill, with whom she was to have three children. They lived at Taigh an t-Saighdeir. In 1911 Kate Effie was working as a wool spinner.
