Angus MacAskill

Angus was born in 1910, the eldest child of Kenneth MacAskill and Christy MacLeod of 6 Borve. The family moved to a new home in Rhuvanish a year or so later. Angus was a pupil at Berneray School between 1917 and 1924.

He died in November 1941, whilst serving as a boatswain on MV Benn Hann. His gravestone is at the Round Church on Islay, not far from the place the wreckage came ashore.
