105901: Kate Campbell
Kate Campbell was born on Skye in 1926. She attended Portree High School before training as a domestic science teacher. She taught in Glasgow where, in 1954 she married John MacKillop, with whom she was to have four children. They lived in Glasgow for a few years, before settling on John’s native island of Berneray, making their home at Ardmaree.
Kate worked as a cook and taught occasionally at Berneray School.
In 1973 Kate recorded a verse for the School of Scottish Studies sound archive. It is available here on the Tobar an Dualchais website.
