106003: Catherine Morrison
Catherine was born in about 1827, the daughter of Kenneth Morrison and Margaret Shaw of Borve. She moved to Ferry with her widowed mother and siblings in about 1854, when Borve tenants were cleared from their crofts in order to make space for Borve Farm.
She was passed the house following her mother’s death, living there with her sisters Margaret and Sibla and their children. She remained unmarried, and earned a living by weaving and selling goods. The house passed to Sibla’s son Kenneth following Catherine’s death in 1905.
