Christina, born 1807, was the daughter of ferryman Kenneth MacAskill and Chirsty MacCusbic of Borve. Her mother died shortly after Christina’s birth and her father remarried. Christina later married Donald MacKinnon of Seilebost, with whom she was to have at least seven children. At the time of the 1841 census  the family was living in Borve, moving to Deiraclete during the 1840s and later to 11 Cluer.
