106452: John Morrison

John, born 1885, was the son of Reverend Murdo Morrison and his wife Margaret Macrae. The family lived at Kenmore, Perthshire until Murdo’s transfer to Berneray in 1888, where the family lived in the United Free Church Manse.

John graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 1907, before serving as missionary assistant at the High United Free Church in Aberdeen and studying at the United Free Church College in Aberdeen, from which he graduated in March 1911. Later that year he was ordained as the minister at Alvie United Free Church, Kincraig.

He served as a lieutenant in the 1st Battalion, Cameron Highlanders, and was killed on 24th September 1918.
