Roderick MacCuish
Roderick, born 1895, was the son of John MacCuish and Margaret MacLeod of Backhill. He was a pupil at Berneray School between 1902 and 1910. On leaving school he became a farm labourer. Roderick was a member of the Royal Naval Reserves during the Great War, and died whilst serving as a deckhand on HM Trawler John Corwarder on 17th December 1918.
