John, born about 1845, was the second son of that name born to John Munro and Flora MacKillop of old Ruisgarry. The family lived in old Ruisgarry until about 1849, when they moved to 14 Benside, Stornoway.
John married Jane MacKay of Stornoway, and they made their home at 20 Coulregrein.
