Peter was a son of John Macleod and Catherine Macdonald, 4 Mangersta. He served in the Royal Navy during the Second World War and a record for him can be found in the Roll of Honour 1939-1945.

Peter married Christina Bell Mackay, 7 Reef and they lived at  4 Mangersta. They had one son.
