109030: Alexander MacDonald

Sir Alexander MacDonald, born 1689, was appointed Chamberlain of the MacDonald of Sleat estates in 1718, and tacksman of Kingsburgh in 1734, when he became known as Alexander MacDonald of Kingsburgh. His family was involved in helping Bonnie Prince Charlie to escape following the Battle of Culloden. Flora MacDonald was later to marry his son Allan.
