111089: Allan MacLean

Allan MacLean was born on the 3rd of March 1896, the son of Lachlan and Kate MacLean.  He lived at Claddach Knockline, Bayhead.  In 1917 he enlisted in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.  Whilst fighting he received a gunshot wound to his left thigh, later wounded by gas and another gunshot to his left leg, leading to its amputation.

After the war he lived in Bayhead Post Office with his wife Jessie MacLean.  He died on the way home from a hospital appointment in Glasgow.
