Kenneth Donald (1923-1999) was a son of Donald Macdonald and Margaret Ferguson, 11 Reef. Kenneth married Rosswitha Meinholt from Germany, a nurse he met in the Stornoway Sanatorium (latterly renamed the County Hospital) while he was a patient there. Initially they lived in Inverness until he assumed tenancy of the croft at 11 Reef and moved there. They had four children.

After Kenneth became a missionary they lived in several places, wherever he was carrying out his missionary duties. They finally lived at Bayhead Street, Stornoway where the house was adapted for their son, disabled in a car accident.
