111882: Isabella Margaret Morrison

Isabella Margaret (1930-2015) was the daughter of Murdo Morrison and Annie Campbell, of 31 North Tolsta.

In 1947 a fire destoyed their house. Her father smashed a window and jumped out with her baby brother John, and her mother and her sisters followed; her mother was injured. The fire was out of control by the time the fire brigade arrived and only the scullery and barn were saved; all furniture and clothing was lost. The family stayed at 34 North Tolsta for the remainder of the night. This was all reported in The Stornoway News on the 10th of October 1947.  

Bella Magaidh married Hector Buchanan, of Laxdale, and the couple settled at 3 Camach Park. They had five children: three girls and two boys.
