Margaret, born 1811, was the daughter of Duncan MacLeod and Mary MacLeod, Ruisgarry. She married Angus Paterson of Borve. Together they were to have six children.  In 1841, Angus had a farm in Ruisgarry, but in 1847, two years after the re-organisation of the crofts in the area, the family emigrated to Framboise, Cape Breton.
