John Paterson
John, born 1841, was the son of Angus Paterson and Margaret MacLeod of Ruisgarry. In 1847, two years after the re-organisation of the crofts in Ruisgarry, the family emigrated to Framboise, Cape Breton. There he married Margaret MacKinnon, who had emigrated from Carinish.
