Norman MacDonald

Norman MacDonald

Norman MacDonald, born 1780, was a tenant in Borve in 1818, paying annual rent of £5 10s. He and his wife, whose name is unknown, had a son, Angus.

The family had moved to Ruisgarry by 1830, where Norman worked as a farmer, paying rent of £5.6.9 for his plot. He was still there in 1841, with Angus, now married with two children, living in the same household. About 1845, with the re-organisation of the small crofts in Ruisgarry, Norman moved instead to Obbe, together with Angus’s family. He is assumed to have died about 1853.
