Angus, born 1806, was the son of Norman MacDonald of Borve, later Ruisgarry. He married Marion, whose surname is unknown, with whom he had two daughters. They lived with his father in Ruisgarry until about 1845, when the crofts were re-organised. Angus and his family moved instead to Obbe, together with his father.

Angus's second wife was Mary Morrison of Obbe.
