113200: John MacLeod
John MacLeod, born 1784, was the son of Neil MacLeod of Pabbay. His first wife Julia MacLeod, with whom he was to have two children, was also from Pabbay.
Following Julia’s death about 1820, John remarried. His second wife was Chirsty MacLeod of Pabbay. Together they had four children. By 1851 they had been moved to Borve, Berneray, where John farmed a croft of 12 acres. In 1854 the crofts were cleared to make way for Borve Farm and the family was moved to Scalpay.
