Alexander, born 1826, was the son of Norman MacLeod and Chirsty MacKillop of Ruisgarry. During the 1840s, with the re-organisation of Ruisgarry’s many small plots into larger ones, the family was moved to 5c Deiraclete, Harris. Alexander married Marion MacLeod of 4b Deiraclete, but also originally from Berneray.
