Roderick, born 1826, was the son of Peter MacCusbic and Effie MacLean of Borve and later Ruisgarry. In 1845, when Ruisgarry’s many small crofts were re-organised into larger plots, the family was moved to 1b Urgha. Roderick married Chirsty Campbell of 1 Drinishader, with whom he emigrated to Goderich, Ontario during the 1860s.
