Mary, whose maiden surname is unknown, was born in 1806. She married Murdo MacAskill of Ruisgarry, with whom she had at least four children. About 1845, with the re-organisation of Ruisgarry’s crofts, the family emigrated to L’Ardoise, Cape Breton.
