114871: Mary Mackenzie

Mary (born 1843) was the daughter of Murdo Mackenzie and Mary Macrae; it is not known where the family were living at the time of her birth. Her father had previously lived in Gairloch and her mother in Strathpeffer.

In 1851 the family are recorded, in the census, as residing in North Tolsta. They lived at the Schoolhouse as her father was the teacher at the school.

Her father died in 1852 and the family moved to Stornoway.

Mary married Murdo Mackenzie, of Back, and the couple emigrated to Quebec.
