115122: Christina Buchanan

Christina (born 1782) was a daughter of Neil Buchanan, 7 Mealista and his wife, Mary. She was married to Norman Mackay, 2 Mealista. They had six children – Kate born 1800; Donald 1808-1896; Mary born 1811; Malcolm 1817-1895; Murdo born 1818 and Neil 1824-1904.

In 1837, when Mealista was cleared, the family emigrated to Cape Breton, then in 1843, Christina, a widow, and family removed to Lingwick Township in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
