115468: Catherine Mitchell

Catherine (born 1841) was a daughter of George Mitchell and his second wife Rachel Matheson, Timsgarry Farm. After her father’s death, she relocated with her mother and siblings to 47 North Shawbost. She had a daughter, Rachel.

Catherine lived with her cousin Andrew Matheson, 24 Crowlista at 34 North Shawbost (tenancy had passed from Donald Mitchell) and she took possession of his effects. Andrew died intestate in 1899 and  tenancy passed to his brother John. On 29.12.1900, he renounced the tenancy in favour of Catherine.
