115907: Angus B. Buchanan

Angus B. was a son of Norman Buchanan and Christina Macdonald, 6 Old Carnish. He may have married Ann Macaulay from Balnicol. Information from Angus’s ggg grandson from Canada is as follows – In 1824, in the Seaforth Estate Papers, an Angus Buchanan is listed as a tenant in Balnicol.

In 1827/28, Angus and his family emigrated to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Family born in Uig before emigrating: Donald 1809-bef. 1891; Murdoch Norman 1812-1899; Annie 1814-1908; Angus B 1818-1895; Kenneth 1823-1902; John 1826-1901 and born on Cape Breton Island, Christie 1829-1898. All of these children remained on Cape Breton Island except for Donald who moved to Ontario.
