In 1827/28, they emigrated with their family to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Family born in Uig before emigrating: Donald 1809-bef. 1891; Murdoch Norman 1812-1899; Annie 1814-1908; Angus B 1818-1895; Kenneth 1823-1902; John 1826-1901 and born on Cape Breton Island, Christie 1829-1898. All of these children remained on Cape Breton Island except for Donald who moved to Ontario.
