11671: John Macdonald Macleod

John Macdonald Macleod (1896-1954) was a son of Angus Macleod and Ann Campbell, 2 Habost.

On February 23, 1916, he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve S/N SD4232 and served as Mate in the Royal Navy in the First World War. His record shows that he was 5ft 7in tall with brown eyes and a dark complexion. Based at HMS Vivid III, HMS Victory and aboard HMS Satellite. John received £15.0.0 Prize Money and his name is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1916.

After the War he lived at King Street, Kingussie and in later life he was the road surveyor for Lewis under Ross and Cromarty Council.
