Reverend Kenneth MacAulay, who lived at Borve, Harris, attended a meeting at Goulaby in 1735, aimed at gathering evidence regarding the disputed island of Grianam. The following year he played host to a group of notable men from Skye who were investigating the boundary between North Uist and Harrs.
