Rev Donald Angus Macrae

Rev Donald Angus (1918-2005) was a son of William Macrae and his second wife, Mary Mackay, Miavaig Farm and House, later 35 Cliff. Donald Angus attended Valtos School and the Nicolson Institute before entering divinity training. He was licensed by the Presbytery of Lewis in April 1942, being ordained and inducted to Sleat, Isle of Skye in October of that year. In 1949 he took up a charge in Benbecula.

Donald Angus married Annie Macleod, Daliburgh, South Uist and they had four children.

In 1956, Donald Angus  became minister in the Church of Scotland, Tarbert, Harris, where he remained until his retirement to Marig, Harris in 1988 after 63 years in the ministry.
