120223: Alexandra Smith

Alexandra (Sandra) Smith was born on 24 January 1950 to Murdo Smith of 1 Sheildinish and Joanna Mackay of 2 Keose Glebe.  She was raised in Glasgow. Sandra married in Glasgow on 24 August 1973.  She initially worked as a draughts woman in Govan Shipbuiders from 1966 until 1981. On 8 April 1980 Sandra remarried in Eastwood, Glasgow. The couple initially lived at 42 Norham Street Shawlands Glasgow but relocated to Lewis in April 1984 and took up residence at 1Sheildenish. Sandra  worked in Arnish fabrication yard but then diversified and worked for 15 years with National Children’s Homes.  Sandra died at home on 13 February 2020.
