12024: Mary Maclean

Mary Maclean (born 1771) from Orinsay was the wife of Kenneth Mackenzie, Buanish. They were evicted from Buanish in order to make room for the expanding sheep farm and they lived for a while in Orinsay.  Mary and Kenneth settled at 8 Old Lemreway and they had nine children.

Mary was widowed in 1820 and was listed in 1826 as one of the households in Lemreway “sub-tenants of Roderick Nicolson who wanted a new lease”.

In 1841, aged 70, she was living with Alexander at Lemreway.
